Welcome to my site, enjoy the experience!
My name is Jason King, and I am 27 years old. I started experimenting with making knives when I was in high school when I would work in the shop with my father who was getting started in making knives at the time.  I made a few then, but it wasn't a serious venture for me at the time.  When I was getting ready to graduate from Kansas State University with my Masters Degree in Agriculture Education I decided to start working seriously on making knives.  After teaching for 2 years I gave up the profession and started making knives full time.  In the past 2 years I have advanced my design and construction so that I am now producing a high quality knife that will stand the test of time.  Three years ago I joined the Professional Knifemakers Association which has been a great help to me in developing my skills and my knife knowledge.  Last year the PKA elected me as the Secretary/Treasurer for the organization.

KNIFE INFORMATION
I make most of my using knives out of D2 which is a high carbon, high chrome tool steel that stands up to extreme usage and is easy to take care of. My clients rave about the vast amount of work they are able to do with my knives before they ever need sharpening. I have recently started using some 440C, and damascus.  I like to use natural materials for my handles, but I will put on just about any handle material when needed. Most of my knives feature stabilized wood handles because wood allows for such interesting patterns and textures in the handle.  I produce knives that can either have hand-rubbed finishes or mirror polished finishes. If you look at my new patterns you will see that I have started to use bolsters. If you look closely you will notice that you can't see any pins in the bolsters because I do a good job of finishing them to make them invisible, I also dovetail my bolsters to add that touch of class you will see on much higher priced knives.  I enjoy making knives, and if you are looking for a hard working knife that will last a lifetime you have come to the right maker. I use and test my knives to ensure that my product will always be a high quality item that will stand up to the work it is designed for.
